DE Service Issue
Incident Report for NetDocuments DE
Postmortem

On 25, May the German service region experienced an impacting event that started at 4:04 PM CEST and ended at 5:33 PM CEST.  While on boarding a new customer, we discovered that a character used extensively in their group names exposed a software issue.   These characters were improperly treated as wild cards in certain cases.  The result was an overwhelming query load on our directory services subsystem.  This caused inordinate delays in ordinary queries, which was manifested as delays and timeouts to all users.  The issue was temporarily resolved by stopping the on boarding activity.  A patch to fully resolve the issue was rolled out with the release on the evening of 27, May.
